TV presenter Phil Spencer has been made brand ambassador for Zoopla.
He will be working on a variety of consumer-facing initiatives covering social media, advice forums and competitions as well as making appearances and speaking at a number of Zoopla-hosted industry events.
He has already been involved for the past few months with Zoopla as the lead voiceover for its current TV adverts.
Spencer co-presents Location Location Location with Kirstie Allsopp and also presents Secret Agent. Next month, he will be hosting the ESTAS awards bash – something which he always does well, with both aplomb and merciful speed.
He is pictured – looking, if we may so, surprisingly colourful – with a monochrome looking Zoopla boss, Alex Chesterman.

I can't believe anyone would think Zoopla is better than Rightmove, there is no comparison! I know plenty of agents who would say 90% of enquiries come through Rightmove. On Zoopla you can't even search for detached properties, you put 'detached' in to their search box and come up with semi-detached. Hours of wasted time sifting through property you don't want, to find the odd detached property amongst what you never set out to search for. Useless search feature! Phil Spencer might turn even more people off Zoopla, good news for Rightmove really. For a voyeuristic site with little in the way of credibility compared to Rightmove, it still attracts celebrities, albeit z list.
RIP Rightmove, you had your chance to listen to your customers and you seemed to get turned on by annoying them....you deserve it
Just had the last Zoopla Choc - delicious! Will be using their umbrella next time it rains. All very, very good marketing. They easily had the strongest presence of the exhibitors this year. Rightmove, by contrast, stayed very low-key. Frankly I was surprised they found anyone brave enough to man the stall!
But Zoopla, despite all the postive comments here, I met people at the conference angry at how you were charging them following the merger with TDPG. There were also several comments about "useless leads".
Hope this feedback is useful to you in developing future strategies.
he may have shook the ladies years ago but time catches up with us all, as does hair loss, not a hunk anymore.
Most EA's in my area look and act like the cast of Towie, some with less intelligence. No wonder some are easily impressed by Zoopla freebies and the girls in Mark's office go all week at the knees over a celebrity.
Your fees are paying Phil Spencer how do you feel about that?
So Zoop' is the second coming and the free coffee cemented the deal?
We really are a silly profession, full of chumps.
we loved the coffee at arla on the zoopla stand. It's the best latte I have ever had. It was great to meet some of their team too.
So for the next event, could we have Phil Spencer and a latte? The ladies in my office have all said they will be coming to the next event if he's there.
RIP Rightmove, you had your chance to listen to your customers and you seemed to get turned on by annoying them....you deserve it
Zoopla were very nice at the Arla conference yesterday, easily the best handouts ever (box of good chocs, umbrellas, and other bits) as well as some decent coffee - this was very welcome as the coffee provided by the London Hilton Metropole was pants! All in all, some excellent PR work Zoopla, I was very impressed!
PLEASE, don't ruin all this later with massive fee hikes. Treat us agents with respect and keep your fees reasonable and fair to to every agent. Don't become another Rightmove - there is more to life than screwing other people for every possible penny. Stay nice.
Really? I bet right move are really concerned, not!
Yes Phil Spencer's company Garrington Home Finders went tits up in 2009 - What a property guru he is! NOT
Phil Spencer is a great TV Presenter/Personality...but not too sure about his expertise in property though??
Anyone remember Garrington Home Finders??
Great move Zoopla! The ladies love him and the chaps have a trusted respect for him.
High profile once gain zoopla raising their game. Another blow for RM
