A private sales website has been removed from Zoopla.

Captured Homes has also been told to take down Zoopla, PrimeLocation, FindaProperty and Globrix branding from its own site.

The Wales-based firm offers a service called Agent You which boasts: “We’ve cut out the estate agent – completely! We’ve put you in charge to upload your property listing, whether it be for sale or to rent, complete with photographs on to our website and our affiliated property portals (Zoopla, Homes24, The Times, etc) taking your home to millions of property buyers.”

The service costs £50 upfront ‘saving you thousands of pounds in estate agent fees’ – which the site describes as extortionate.

Captured Homes also offers a commission-free ‘professional package’ for £199, which is described as removing the need for an intermediary agent, and a video package for £349. The video package presents your three-bed property in Bridgend complete with a funky jazz soundtrack.

A Zoopla spokesman said: “Sometimes companies may sign up to our services under false pretence saying that they are operating as a full service estate agency. This appears to be the case here and this company has now been removed from our websites.

“We have also asked them to remove our branding from their site.”

If you can have your property advertised privately on Zoopla it underminds the estate agent who is paying through the nose to use the service and offer it to potential clients.

    Evening all.

Letting agents do not need to be apart of a redress scheme at present. But, Zoopla should be checking sales agents are members as this is legislation.

So can anyone tell me why this company aren't on Zoopla anymore? It doesn't seem to make any sense to me.

I think the OFT will be digging out the The Competition Act 1998 and the Enterprise Act 2002

Wardy RM won’t do that as circa a third of agents are trading illegally and are not members of any redress scheme, so RM would lose massive fees from these dodgy outfits if they kicked them out.

Now if the gov were serious about some regualtion, making the portals do this would police it far far better than current.

@ Hmnn , I think so also. The powers that be have their sights on this one. Watch this space.

Its all quite easy. All the portals need to do is ask to see confirmation of redress membership before allowing on the site

no reason for any trouble ahead, the PI's can pay for their own portal to be developed just like agents have paid to develop RM,Zoopla et all

Sorry mate this is our lunch buy your own!

This is exactly the sort of barrier to entry the government was trying to prevent, I see trouble ahead. This action forces vendors to take a service they do not want.

Mr Zoopla rep, nobody cares anymore. Posting exactly the same comment in multiple threads with the exact same format is only going to make Zoopla look stupid, not Rightmove.
