Marsh & Parsons is the latest high-end agency to open in Brixton, a stone’s throw from the controversial Foxtons office targetted on several occasions by anti-gentrification protests.
The new office, on Coldharbour Lane, will be fully operational from January 16 and complements the agency’s existing branches in nearby Clapham, Balham and Tooting.
This brings the Marsh & Parsons network up to 28 and like many recent openings by the firm it is offering local vendors a zero per cent sales fee until Friday April 7. The firm calculates that Brixton sellers will save an average £11,400 per transaction.
Foxtons - which has seen its Brixton High Street office targeted on many occasions by graffiti vandals, sit-in protestors and random window-smashers - is a regular target for those campaigning against gentrification of previously run-down areas of London.
“We're delighted to further strengthen our reputation and presence by opening in Brixton. Our zero per cent sales commission campaign is designed to offer property owners a taster of the exceptional customer service and results we're able to deliver in the hope they'll tell their friends all about us” says David Brown, chief executive at Marsh & Parsons.
“Historically, it has been a great way to introduce ourselves to a new neighbourhood and having already been a part of the local property scene for a number years, via our surrounding offices in Clapham, Balham and Tooting.”
