The never knowingly under-punned EweMove hybrid agency says it’s seen a 69 per cent surge in valuation enquiries within three weeks of hiring a former BBC reality show star.
EweMove Sales & Lettings has engaged Carol Smillie, famous for presenting Changing Rooms, to be the agency’s brand ambassador.
Glenn Ackroyd, the agency’s so-called Head Shepherd - other firms might refer to the role as a managing director - says he’s delighted at the (wait for it) “ram-pant growth.”
“Our research showed that she commands a high level of trust and she’s well known by our target customer demographic so we knew she’d have a big impact, but we’ve been blown away with the response so far” he says.
To maximise exposure, the agency has set up www.carolinvestigates.co.uk to show the reality star meeting customers.
In addition to the increase in online sales valuation enquiries, the firm says it’s seen a 51 per cent increase in lead conversions.
EweMove’s current 85 branches will rise to 100 by the end of 2016 “with a growing pipeline of new franchisees already signed up to launch during the second half of the year” says Ackroyd.

Does Handy Andy do their landlord repairs?
Sadly not. I asked Carol about Handy Andy. He was a regular joiner who was working for on a house that Linda Barker was managing the design for a client.
The BBC called Linda about a new idea for a TV program whilst she was at the house and the researcher asked about the chirpy person talking away in the background. That was Andy and by virtue of that chance call he was brought on board. At that point they'd not considered making the joiner part of the show.
It seems the Franchies with shops do well, but those without don't - so is it really a Hybrid?
