Activists who stormed a wedding as part of a protest event in which a Foxtons office was damaged have been fined and ordered to undertake unpaid work.
London’s Metro newspaper reports that Sapphire McIntosh and Joshua Virasami stormed Lambeth Town Hall in Brixton as part of a demonstration in spring 2015 about gentrification of the local area. A register office is located in the town hall, and a wedding was going on at the time of the protest.
Another part of the protest - involving different individuals - saw one window in the local Foxtons office smashed, and another window of the agency daubed with paint saying ‘Yuppies Out.’
