A new free-to-list property portal is launching in the UK, and has a pledge to serve over 20 counties by the end of this year.
The site - called Residential People - comes from a company called Commercial People.
Its launch statement says it is “the new residential focused portal that aims to offer agents a free-to-list solution for advertising their properties.”
It carries a range of PropTech features - for example, automatic PDF and microsite generation facilities as well as a real-time video generator - and the site says it is aim,ing at estate agents, landlords and ancillary service providers.
Residential People’s co-director Christopher May says: "After constantly reading about the increasing costs of running a real estate agency and having been an agent myself, I fully appreciate the burden of the rising costs of running a successful real estate agency.
“This is why we decided to build a 'Free to List' property portal that adds real value. I believe a lot of buyers and sellers do not truly understand the pressure that a lot of agents are under, particularly when it comes to the marketing of their property.
“Agents only get paid if they are successful which is why it is such a tough job, and I don’t think that a lot of the advertising portals out there truly appreciate this.
"At Residential People, we are completely free to list for agents, but with the help of our automated easy to use marketing tools, agents can drive more traffic to their listings, giving them the extra value and ammunition required to win new business and in turn helping to improve our agents' profitability."
The site says it aims to expand “across the globe” this year, covering over 20 countries by the end of 2019 including China, India and the UAE.
As of last evening its inventory in the UK was still modest - just 1,439 houses, 120 flats and two new developments. Some 25 agents are listed in the A-Z section.
You can see the site for yourself here.

I checked out their website and in the whole of Manchester it has one commercial property for sale, no residential sales or lettings. it's privacy policy states that it's allowed to invade your compactor for information and then passes in onto others?
Thanks Emma for your comments. In our commercialpeople.com which is purely for commercial we have over 5000 properties and growing. This is free listings as well. As the article states we have just launched residentialpeople and are free to list which is why the site has not alot of listings presently. However Free online exposure for agents properties. Happy to answer any enquiries on the phone if you have any questions on telephone 0208 594 8220
There are just the concerns over it's access to my computer and who it passes on information too.
The Residential People site looks fairly new although I've heard of Commercial People. I guess it's a no brainer to give it a try for free.
