Purplebricks has become the major partner with a leading Australian rugby league team, Melbourne Storm.
"Purplebricks is reshaping the real estate market in Australia which was attractive to the club” explains the club’s chief executive Dave Donaghy.
"As a rugby league club … Melbourne Storm is certainly not afraid to be disruptive and creative and with its revolutionary business model in the real estate industry Purplebricks was a great fit for us. The partnership with Purplebricks is one we see can break new ground in a lot of ways and we are excited about working with them in the coming season.”
The hybrid agency’s chief executive in Australia, Neil Tavender, said Melbourne Storm - which already used the colour purple - was a natural fit to help drive awareness across the country.
“Storm have been a hugely successful club for many years, on and off the field, and we are excited about partnering with them for 2019” Tavender said.
"I'm really proud of how the Storm jersey is looking with the Purplebricks logo on the front.”
Purplebricks recently launched a new PR offensive in Australia, highly critical of traditional agencies. The agency has changed its business model down under to allow vendors to pay a proportion upfront with the rest of the fixed fee payable on sale - a new bid to win a share of a difficult market weathering a downturn.
Last month Scottish Rugby announced its sponsorship deal with the UK element of Purplebricks.
The firm's name has been carried on the back of the national team's shirts throughout the Six Nations and follows on from the pair's partnership during the 2018 autumn tests.

Yawn. Next.
"As a rugby league club … Melbourne Storm is certainly not afraid to be disruptive and creative and with its revolutionary business model..."
Melbourne Storm is certainly creative - they had 2 NRL Premierships taken off them for not only cheating the salary cap, but keeping 2 sets of books created specifically for that purpose.
Not that I'm a cynic, or anything...
Make sure they pay up front
As a millionaire friend of mine once said, "if you're going to go bang go in style."
