Hunters has become one of the first major agencies to reveal the gender balance of its staff - and 60 per cent are female.
Hunters has over 200 branches and some 680 fully accredited staff members across the network and passing through its training academy. Over 410, or just over 60 per cent, are women.
There is also an almost equal split for the company’s directors and heads of department - the firm says this illustrates “a well-balanced representation in key decision-making roles.”
There are a total of 28 female franchise directors across the network; Hunters’ first and longest standing franchised office was opened in 2006 by Rebekah Try and several of the female franchise directors today run multiple branches.
The chief executive of Hunters, Glynis Frew, comments: “It is great to see industry female representation continue to grow and we’re proud that Hunters, along with many others in property, have been encouraging it for some time now.
“More and more women entering the industry can only be a good thing but we must not forget that the value of the contribution to our fantastic industry is not gender-dependent.”
Frew is herself one of the few female chief executives of a plc. She took over in 2016 having previously been chief operating officer, lettings director and human resources director at the company.

I’m really surprised at this article as I would imagine at most companies in this industry the majority of staff are women. Is this just a publicity stunt to make Hunters look good?
We have 75% women and 25% men... what's their point?
It's international women's day on Sunday and it's nice to see Hunters supporting it and gender equality more generally if you ask me!
