Former Reapit chief Gary Barker is to join Connells Group, just as the company is taking over Countrywide.
Barker - who last year departed from still-to-launch portal Boomin for personal reasons - is now set to become Connells Group’s chief technology officer.
A statement from the firm says he will help transform “the way IT supports and enables the business to work smarter and supporting long term plans to further evolve and expand in this area.”
In his role as chief executive of Reapit he developed its CRM and property management platforms, eventually supporting over 4,500 estate agency offices. Before that he spent over 10 years at Countrywide, finishing in his role as estate agency IT director.
Connells Group has also confirmed that Jon Notley - formerly of Zoopla - is to be group integration director. Notley has said this role would oversee the integration of Countrywide with Connells. Notley has previously been chief executive of Zero Deposit and worked at the old Findaproperty service as well as Zoopla.
David Livesey, Connells Group chief executive, says: “We are thrilled to have Jon and Gary on board at this exciting time for the business, complementing our senior team and bringing with them decades of experience. As we expand, there will be further opportunities both for our people, and for the best in the industry to join us as we shape the future of the property industry.”

C and C portal one step closer?
Reapit was the single largest factor behind the demise of Countrywide, with the possible exception of the actual decision to buy it. Cornell’s will need someone who knows about the 13+ separate versions installed to unpick it. Not a fun job.
Yep dog of a product.
Needed to buy an Aussie company to fix it
Is it possible to be an ex-Boomin star already? When is that portal ever going to launch?
very soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
