A new service is offering agents free welcome boxes which can be passed over to buyers and tenants who move in.
The boxes contain branded small treats and branded household items to help movers settle in, plus discount vouchers from retailers such as Homebase; the supplier, Home Move Box, gives agents these boxes free of charge, with them having been paid for initially by the brands donating the contents.
Home Move Box launched last summer and now has 2,000 estate agency branches signed up.
“Our volume is also increasing quickly, and this month we will have sent over 100,000 boxes to agents across the country” Home Move Box tells Estate Agent Today.
Agents hand the boxes - marked up with the agencies' logos - to movers when they collect the keys to their new home, and HMB says the response from agents so far has been fantastic; 83 per cent of movers say that receiving the box has made them more likely to recommend their agent or use them again.
When agents sign up they can receive a maximum of eight branded boxes per month.

Flippin Eck, I remember handing these 'welcome boxes' out to customers 25years ago.
Back when Sunday trading was a no-go and there was no / very little late night opening.
This outfit have been around for years, haven't they?
Yeah I remember them in the early 2000s
Given how utterly useless most conveyancers' are maybe a new pack could be created;
Toothbrush
Underwear
Premier Inn gift voucher
Deliveroo voucher
Ouch!
