Agents have been warned to be wary about the resurgence of Purplebricks.
It comes after the online brand was taken over by its rival Strike earlier this year and last week replaced the brand and shifted to a fee-free model.
Primelocation founder Mal McCallion has described the launch as a “zombie reincarnation” sequel.
McCallion, who has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI) property search tool called ModelProp AI, warns that the zombies need stopping before they do damage to people’s lives.
Writing a blog on his website, McCallion said: “As the Purplebricks' zombies lurch around your neighbourhoods, biting chunks out of vendor expectations on fees, don’t consider it poor form to point out the contradictions in their £0 offering.
“If paying a standard £3,500 fee to an agent achieves a price £10,000 higher than it would otherwise have been, due to the agent’s skills working for the homeowner in marketing, negotiation and closure – and paying £0 to Purplebricks gets them £0 extra in house price, plus zero hours of a skilled agent working in alignment with their dreams – even the braindead could probably work out that this is a horrific idea.
“Like every film’s zombie hoard, Purplebricks need stopping before they do even more damage to people’s lives. And, this time, another sequel has to be impossible.”

I can't disagree with that. But cheapskate gullibles will get suckered in.
How few people do we imagine they will employ to progress a chain through to completion? As we agents know, this is the most difficult part of the job and the most time consuming. They have almost no incentive, apart from reputuation??, to assist when a sale encounters the myriad of problems that occur.
Its just a numbers game for them they don't care about buyers or sellers its the dosh nothing else. portals should stop allowing them to list with them after all they are encouraging private sales.
This is the time for Rightmove to show some spine and start supporting the agents that have allowed them to build their business over the years by not allowing what effectively is a free to list facility for the public. Whilst we as agents are all very well aware of the pitfalls the man on the street will just focus on the fact that it is free. I can't imagine Rightmove will step up so it's time for
the industry as a whole to start fighting our own corner. Quite how we do that is open for discussion........
Just imagine having this lot in a chain...we will end up doig the job for them AGAIN!!!!
