A Keller Williams (KW) agent has hailed the success of TikTok as a marketing tool just 18 months into her role.
Tanya Baker started her business 18 months ago under the KW London Bridge Market Centre, which is owned and operated by industry figure Chris Buckler.
She still uses Rightmove and Zoopla but has built a niche for TikTok videos and recently attracted 1.4m views and 267,000 likes on a five-storey townhouse.
It is unclear if she has closed any sales through this method.
She told local publication the News Shopper: ““I hope to breathe a bit of fresh air into the industry and make it a bit more interesting for people when they're looking.
“TikTok is actually great because people will be scrolling through passively and the algorithm might recognise that they have been to Rightmove at some point and put it on their ForYou page.
“People spend about two and a half day a day on social media, but only eight minutes a day on Rightmove.”
Buckler added: “Tanya is so passionate about what she does. She'll be the first to tell you that self employed estate agency isn't for everyone, but seeing her overcome challenges to then thrive make me feel like a very proud (slightly older) brother.
“The best bit about the culture we have here is that Tanya is always on hand to share best practice with her fellow agents. It is great having her in the team, especially what some of the mature amongst us hadn't even heard of ‘ticky tocky.’”

Of the million+ views, for certain, there will be a large number of bots.
It's better to have a couple of views from eager local buyer's than millions from who knows where.
Putting the house on TikTok got 3 extra sincere viewers, two with properties to sell… 😊
At least I’m utilising every possible channel to expose my clients homes and not just sat waiting for leads to come through Rightmove.
1.4m ''views'' - yeah sure - but how many are actually seriouis potential buyers?
Not impressed. I would put a reasonable sum on that she has not closed any sales via Tik Tok.
Oh Rob, this comment is giving paper diary and applicants hotbox vibes.
It’s 2023 not 1905… I’ll let my 1.8m views know you’re not impressed🦖😊
