Challenger portal Jangle has secured its first round of funding and has had hundreds of agents sign up so far.
Jeremy Rosenblatt, a former director at Dexters and Hanover Residential, unveiled plans for Jangle - a zero spend portal, last December.
It won’t charge agents for listings and there will be an API that automatically uploads their properties.
Rosenblatt has revealed to Estate Agent Today that an initial round of funding from venture capital firms has been secured and a second will be opened.
He said: “The first round has enabled us to move forward.
“That includes building a website that can go out.
“Things are progressing and there will be more news in due course.
“In due course we will get more funding and then we will be ready for a public launch.”
Rosenblatt couldn’t comment on who the backers were and said hundreds of agents have signed up to use the portal.

remove your spend on extras at rightmove and watch them squirm
Success, or failure, will be determined by the message - to agents and to consumers.
Make it crystal-clear and compelling.
Hi Chris, we are hoping the message is clear, simple and very compelling - zero portal spend. In a tough market where Rightmove an Onthemarket are increasing their subscription prices, agents deserve a fairer and more attractive option. Agents can show their support by signing up on our website. Jangle is free to agents now, and will be forever.
