A new estate agency has launched in West Sussex with a focus on sustainability.
Pear Properties has been launched by Marcus Farrell, managing director of a local construction company, and Joe Bailey, a former branch manager at Michael Jones & Co. Estate Agents.
The pair first formed a friendship when playing football 20 years ago.
Situated in the heart of Lancing on Cokeham Lane, Pear Properties will be pairing people & property across Worthing, Shoreham, Southwick, and the surrounding areas.
It will offer features such as evening viewings and a paperless office.
Farrell said: "The mission of Pear Properties is to take the stress out of buying, selling, and lettings. When a property is ripe for the picking, we’re on it.
“We believe house-hunting shouldn’t be a full-time job; it’s got to work for the client, not the other way around. We offer extended hours – if the only time you can make a viewing is 8 pm, then that’s when we’ll be there – and we’re always available for a chat or even a quick update via text or WhatsApp.
But Pear Properties doesn't stop at traditional estate agent services. Our bespoke 'RePear' service, ensures landlords and tenants have access to maintenance and refurbishment support 24/7.”
He said sustainability is at the core of the business, with the Pear Properties office operating as paperless, a "Live Wall" initiative is in place to offset carbon usage, and agents travel to local appointments by eco-friendly means like walking or cycling.
Bailey added: "Between the two of us, we’ve seen the property market from all sides, and we’re looking forward to using that knowledge and experience to 'pear' our clients with their perfect homes or tenants.”

Paperless office ha ha ha.
8pm viewing on a Friday by a complete time waster, when you want to go out and enjoy yourself. From 26 years of doing this job, that will soon be a no no. Good luck with your new venture, and a word of advice, remember the s**t brings you s**t, and the more you give, the more people will take from you.
When I purchased my first property, because of work commitments, I could only view in the evenings. That was 40 years ago, looks like we have gone a full circle.
I recently sold a property and in all honesty I think I did the work for the agent carried out viewings out of office hours.
Martin, I acknowledge your experience, in the motor trade we would call them tyre kickers, but with experience you can recognise them. Some times you have to try different tactics.
